Why be a facilitator?
Are you interested in talking about the impacts of engineering with incoming first-year College of Engineering students? Would you like to connect with first-year students to share some of your experiences? Are you looking to promote your student organization or other involvement opportunities? Serving as a Common Reading Experience facilitator in the Fall may be a great fit for you!

Who can serve as a facilitator?
We are looking for College of Engineering student volunteers (including graduate students) to help facilitate these group discussions for our incoming first-year students in the Fall 2023 semester.
What’s in it for me?
Students who volunteer will receive a complimentary copy of the book and be provided training to facilitate two small group discussion sessions. Volunteers will have the opportunity to promote their student organizations and other UM involvement in the sessions they facilitate. If you would like to help build community, enhance your facilitation skills, and welcome incoming first-year students, this is a great way to do so!
